GoldieBlox, an innovative building toy for girls that got it’s start on Kickstarter, is building a disruptive toy brand. The latest commercial, reminiscent of Apple’s 1984, shows a cute, curly-haired blonde girl destroying the dystopian ‘big sister’ and her idea of ‘perfect beauty.’
Similar to their other advertisements, this latest spot encourages little girls to break the mold and play with toys that do more than look pretty. The spot announces the first GoldieBlox action figure, set to release this holiday season.
It’s an interesting choice for a brand that gained such infamy liberating girls from dolls, to release an action figure. But It’s likely that girls will be able to do more than just accessorize this toy.
